The Institute for Democratic Governance, IDEG, was mainly responsible for monitoring the conduct of this year's presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana, and for the first time. Its executive Director Dr Emmanuel Akwetey, talks to Talking Africa's Sonny Decker about IDEG's experiences in monitoring the conduct of the elections and how it dealt with challenging voting issues.

The Soundwalk Collective Series (repeat)
Repeated from Saturday afternoon. Over the past ten years, Soundwalk Collective has won international recognition for their work of abstracting and re-composing narrative sound pieces through fragments of reality, and by forging evocative journeys in sound that are exhibited in the form of sound installation and performance. This Anniversary Series will showcase selected works that have both defined and defied the soundscape genre.
Today: "Medea: Recordings from the Black Sea 2011." This is an original composition based on recordings of radio waves as well as voice and sound fragments collected by Soundwalk Collective during a two-month crossing of the Black Sea, in a sailing boat specially equipped with scanners, microphones and high-range aerials. Medea reaches into Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Crimea, Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria and embarks on a sound reading of a region of the world whose quivering beauty remains cruel and obscure – akin to the ancient Medea. The book + album is published by Dis Voir.
