Ben Eshmade looks at the Poetry Parnassus festival (26 June to 1 July at Southbank Centre), the largest gathering of the world’s poets. He speaks to a host of poets and performers covering the themes of London, Politics and Love including South African poet Kate Kililea, Zambian poet Kayo Chingongyi, Uzbek poet Hamid Ismailov, Palestinian poet Rafif Ziadeh, Kenyan poet Shailja Patel and Malawian poet Jack Mapanje, Latvian poet Karlis and Austrian poet Evelyn Schlag. There will also be details of a poetry pub quiz, poetry cakes, a cake laundrette and details on a rain of poems!
