In the run-up to Christmas, Wavelength welcomes back Bob Parks to talk about his personal approach to gospel music and religion: Bob Parks' career started out some forty years back, when he first entered into the arena of performance art during the sixties and early seventies. Born in the UK, Bob moved to South Central Los Angeles in 1972, where he immersed himself in various aspects of avant-garde culture. A stint as an actor resulted in a walk-on part in Martin Scorcese's "New York New York," and further encounters with the mainstream involved appearances on "The Gong Show," but it's his work as a musician that's collected here, and "The R&B Feeling" is an album dedicated to outsider gospel and surreal lo-fi songwriting.
