Written and presented by David Bell, with original music by Surfacing. David Bell is a researcher, writer and musician based in the Centre for Advanced Studies at the University of Nottingham. His work revolves around issues of utopia(nism), the commons and affect. This audio essay forms part of his work with the international 'Wasteland Twinning' collective, a group of artist-researchers exploring the functions and values of urban wastelands in cities across the glove.
